We are excited to be able to offer an excellent opportunity to join our Laboratory team. There is a requirement to be able to work from both our Wickford and Basildon based Laboratories depending on the project.
SBZ Corporation is the privately-owned global organisation specialising in the formulation, manufacture, and global distribution of fuel and lubricant additives, base oils, and speciality products for the oil industry. We offer an extensive portfolio of products to meet the needs of international oil groups, fuel storage, supply terminals, fuel blenders, lubricant manufacturers, and fuel wholesalers and industries worldwide.
The purpose of the role is to support the smooth running of the laboratory. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you will work closely with cross functional teams including sales, production, and customer operations, to ensure we continually meet customer needs and requirements.
Responsibilities will include:
- Testing and Sampling
- All in house testing of raw materials
- All in house testing of finished products
- All reporting and recording of all test results
- For the upkeep and ordering of all consumables required for the laboratory
- All sample disposal
- Produce laboratory blends when requested
- Ensuring sample requests are processed in a timely manner, including arranging for transport and ensuring the required customs paperwork is completed
- To support in development projects as and when required
- Provide support to the Laboratory Manager and Technical team as required
- Ensure the laboratory is kept in a clean and tidy condition at all times
- Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained and raise any maintenance queries to the
Laboratory Manager
- Ensuring all laboratory records and administration is kept up to date
- Responsible for meeting personal and departmental objectives
- Perform any other duties or related tasks as requested
The ideal Candidate will have:
- Have a background in Chemistry
- A-level Chemistry
- Experience working in a QC Laboratory
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to work without supervision
- The ability to multitask
- Excellent time management skills
- Exceptional communication skills
- Calm under pressure
- Excellent IT skills with Microsoft Office
- Excellent written, numerical and problem-solving skills
- Good record keeping skills
- Able to work 12-hour shifts day and nights
Hours:
44 per week, over 4 x 12-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, as detailed below, with a 60-minute unpaid break.
Dayshift
6am to 6pm Monday
6am to 6pm Tuesday
6am to 6pm Wednesday
6am to 6pm Thursday
Nightshift
6pm Monday to 6am Tuesday
6pm Tuesday to 6am Wednesday
6pm Wednesday to 6am Thursday
