SBZ began in July 2003 with a clear vision from Founder and CEO Laurence Holder: to build an independent industrial company that puts customers first. From day one, Laurence combined deep technical knowledge with a belief that suppliers should be agile, transparent, and responsive to real-world needs. What started as a bold idea in Essex has since grown into a global business - but that original spirit of agility, transparency, and partnership still drives everything we do.
Trust
Over the past two decades, the team has built SBZ on relationships and expertise - a hands-on approach that quickly earned the trust of blenders and manufacturers across fuels and lubricants. That commitment to agility and integrity became the foundation of our culture, shaping the way we work to this day.
Growth
SBZ has grown into a global business with labs, storage hubs, and partners across more than 30 countries. But at our core, we’re still independent, still family-founded, and still focused on doing things differently.
