SBZ Corporation is delighted to announce the appointment of Greg Miranda Technical Director. Using his 14 years of experience in the additive industry, Greg will lead the technical product strategy for the USA and the Americas. Welcome on board!
What is your role within SBZ?
Technical Director, Americas.
What does your role involve?
Leading the technical product strategy for the USA and the Americas. My role will include product development, data management, product differentiation, manufacturing, and managing all the internal and external resources that make it happen while integrating all technical efforts with those of our sales and commercial teams.
What experiences do you have that will help you in your role?
I spent 14 years of my career at a large chemical additives company as a Technology Manager and Senior Research Engineer. For much of that time, I worked in an automotive and industrial laboratory developing both industry standardized testing methods and internal novel research methodologies used to differentiate technology performance. Later having experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in identified strategic research portfolios in partnership with the industry’s largest OEMs, Tier suppliers, independent laboratories, and university researchers has given me a good breadth and understanding of formulating strategy/technology, market needs, and performance requirements that our customers value.
What did you study at university and where?
Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Mechanical Engineering, including graduate research, focused on Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Thermal Science.
What made you want to work in the industry?
I have had a passion for all things automotive from an early age. I had an opportunity early in my undergraduate career to work in an automotive research laboratory at a large chemical additive company, and that kick-started and solidified the career path for the last 14 years.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy anything that gets me into the outdoors…. Hiking, rock climbing, running, mountaineering, photography, motorbikes, hunting, and fishing. I have also spent the last 15 years as a rugby player and most recently as a local high school coach.
What is the best advice you’ve ever heard?
My father always instilled in me to “have pride in everything that you do”.
