Every type of foam has its own application and it is imperative that the correct one is used in an emergency situation.  The key characteristics of a foam include drainage, expansion, knock down and burn back.  Foam types vary depending on the scenario where the foam is to be used.

Foam concentrates are tested by manufacturers to meet internationally recognised extinguishment, burnback and proportioning standards.  The three most widely recognised tests are: UL162, ICAO Level B and EN 1568 parts 1-4.  SBZ Corporation supplies a range of internationally approved film forming foam concentrates including protein, synthetic, dual application, alcohol resistant and low freeze.
