ISO 9001 specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization must demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer requirements and aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system. ISO 14001 focuses on how the business runs from an environmental perspective. Similarly, ISO 14001 specifies the requirements for an environmental management system, which provides a framework for an organization to control the environmental impacts of its activities, products and services, and to continually improve its environmental performance.
