An independent assessment report carried out by Axiom Engineering Associates Limited, demonstrates how the addition of SBZ 1895 fuel additive to bio-ethanol significantly reduces the risk of stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in carbon steel tanks.

Following an assessment by an independent body, SBZ Corporation has been awarded ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification.

SBZ 2005 Corrosion Inhibitor

Corrosion Inhibitor for Ethanol and Ethanol Blended Gasoline

SBZ 2005 is the most powerful corrosion inhibitor for use in ethanol. SBZ 2005 prevents rust formation due to ethanol in storage facilities, through to the pump and the engine itself. SBZ 2005 continues to perform when blended into E85, E10, E5 and E3. Water in storage and distribution systems that handle fuel grade ethanol and finished gasoline blends containing ethanol can corrode ferrous metals found in tanks, pipelines and pumps as well as certain engine parts.  The recommended treat-rate for SBZ 2005 is 30ppm in neat ethanol (E100). This dosage will give excellent corrosion protection in fuel grade ethanol or gasoline ethanol blends down to E3.

SBZ 1895

SBZ 1895 is a proprietary blend of methanol, denatonium benzoate and a special corrosion inhibitor. It has been specifically formulated to denature bio-ethanol and to provide protection of assets from corrosion. SBZ 1895 has been carefully blended to meet HM Revenue & Custom’s guidelines when applied at the recommended treat rates.  A major benefit of SBZ 1895 is that it minimises the in-terminal operations. It eliminates any need for local application of denatonium benzoate and corrosion inhibitor, with associated facility and control issues. The special corrosion inhibitor in SBZ 1895 has demonstrated excellent corrosion protection in the presence of bio-ethanol and water. Use of SBZ 1895 will not only provide corrosion protection for product wetted surfaces in terminal storage tanks, it will also provide similar protection for downstream pipe-work, loading racks and storage tanks.
